Hi! I’m Simon aka Simonshairground!
I am a Barber from London, England who started Hairdressing with Vidal Sassoon straight from school. After taking a break from Hair to work in Swiss Watches I returned to specifically Barbering and short hair 4 years ago.During my apprenticeship at Sassoon, working with some of the best Stylists in the world, I was exposed from an early age to precision cutting, and premium service.Following a wrist injury I decided to take a break from the industry and went to work with my Father in the Swiss Watch Trade – which has become another passion of mine! It was after seeing a shift in trends and a new wave of Barbering from brands such as Menspire and Ruger that my passion for the industry was re born!I literally threw myself back into the industry completing various education from London School of Barbering, PARADIGM ACADEMICS, and 121 sessions with the likes of Charlie Grey and Nick Barford. I’m very grateful for my time away from hair as It gave me invaluable skills on service, business and the space to realise my passion in hair!The Hairground Live concept was born following a week of covid and reaching out to my Instagram network to find connection and talk hair as I was missing work,It was something that had no end goal and was started out of pure enjoyment! I’ve been blessed to have had some incredible artists on the show from all over the world.Since December 2021 I have interviewed over 50 guests, going live every Sunday at 8pm.This year I have even more incredible guests scheduled onto the show and looking forward to attending industry events across the world where this format will also become mobile. I am also very excited to announce my partnership with the team at Gamma+ which is a brand leading technical innovations in the industry!
