Martin X Santiago

I’m Martin X Santiago from Cataño, Puerto Rico. My journey into barbering began at 13 when I started cleaning a local barber shop, earning $15 daily. Graduating high school in 2009, I acquired my first pair of clippers, igniting a passion that became my lifeline and sanctuary.
My instructor shared that with me at the most opportune time, where that is all I had to hold on to was God and my clippers. That has not changed for me – my God and my clippers have sent me down a road of growth and prosperity in all aspects of life. Within a road of growth, God blessed me with an amazing wife and kiddos who keep me going every day. All three components are my strong pillars and a constant reminder that being present and giving your all can change your life in a second.
Barbering isn’t just a profession to me, it’s a calling—a second chance at life. Over the years, I’ve honed my skills and found fulfillment in perfecting haircuts and mentoring new barbers who walk through our doors. Witnessing their growth fuels my dedication to fostering a supportive community within the industry.I have also enjoyed being a part of my client’s lives and watching them grow from the sidelines. I have been able to be a part of some of my clients’ big chapters like weddings, graduations, interviews, etc. I have nothing but gratitude as they have allowed me to serve them here in Chattanooga, TN. As I look to the future, my goal remains steadfast: to evolve as a barber, mentor, and advocate for our craft. Whether mastering new techniques, nurturing talent, or championing barbering as a respected profession, I’m committed to pushing boundaries and celebrating tradition. I don’t know what the future may hold for me but one thing for certain, I’m ready for anything.
