Good Old Soul Barbershop

My wife is from Vienna, and I’m from Lower Austria. We first met in 2013 at a tattoo studio in Vienna, and from that moment, our lives became intertwined with a shared passion for creativity and craftsmanship. Little did we know that meeting would  eventually lead to the creation of our dream barbershop.
Our journey began in the most  unexpected place – our favorite pizza restaurant. One evening, I grabbed  a napkin and started sketching the vision I had for a barbershop. I always wanted something unique, something special. The idea was clear: a single chair, one client at a time, offering  an unrivaled, personal service.  This was the essence of what I had in mind. I’ve always felt like an old soul, drawn to vintage and antique things, but I’m not stuck in the past. That’s why we decided to call our barbershop Good Old Soul. For us, the name  reflects a love for old things that tell stories, combined with a modern touch.

We are immensely proud of the atmosphere we’ve created. Before we even knew exactly what direction our project would take, we already had our 1931 Ford Model A Hotrod. It became part of our identity, a symbol of the vintage spirit that runs through  everything we do. The barbershop decor reflects this love for the past. When clients step into Good Old Soul, they feel  transported to a different era.  Every piece, from the antique barber chairs to the old-school signage, has been carefully curated to create a timeless experience. We wanted to offer more than just a haircut – we wanted to offer a journey back in time.

Our passion lies in classic barbering. We specialize in traditional men’s haircuts and hot towel shaves, using techniques that have been perfected over generations. There’s something deeply satisfying about keeping these old traditions alive. That’s why we maintain the single-chair setup – it allows us to focus entirely on the client, giving them the best possible experience in a truly intimate, personalized environment.

Over the years, we’ve been fortunate enough to receive recognition for our work. In 2019, I was awarded the Porkchop of the Month by Reuzel, and in 2020, I won the very first Mizutani World Men’s Grooming Contest. These honors mean the world to us, but the true reward is the daily satisfaction of doing what we love.

My wife is my biggest motivation. She is the heart and soul of Good Old Soul Barbershop, managing everything with grace and keeping me grounded. Without her, there wouldn’t be a Good Old Soul. She’s my anchor, and together, we make this place what it is.

As we look to the future, our goals remain clear. We want to continue learning, pushing ourselves to master new techniques and styles. We also plan to further enhance the decor of our shop, adding new elements that capture the vintage essence we love so much. And of course, we hope to win more awards along the way, but most importantly, we want to keep offering our clients the absolute best service.
